The weather was not co-operating with heavy downpours, but finally let up later in the day.
Thankfully, the club had rented a tent, and we also had the barn to stay dry in.
We started the morning with FIELD TRAINING demonstrations by Mike Wilshire
Mike is the CKC Western Ontario Pointing Breed Representative, and professional field trainer.
He worked with some fine young dogs and introduced them to "BIRDS"

A SPECIAL SLIDE PRESENTATION from our guest speaker, Diana Kubitz, of Renegade Kennels, Michigan.
Diana is the Judge's Education Co-ordinator for the American Brittany Club, and we were privileged
to have her & her husband Gary, come up and go over our breed standard & importance for both show & field.
At times it was hard to hear her while the rain pounded down on the metal roof of the barn.

Michael Neve & Barbara Brownridge prepared a delicious STEAK BBQ LUNCH with all the fixings.
A great deal of effort had gone into the planning and preparation of salads and side dishes.
A commemorative cake was prepared by Donna Coloumbe and enjoyed by all.

A brief AGM was conducted, going over the club's past year and plans for the upcoming months.
Past president, Mark O'Donnell, then welcomed Barbara Brownridge as our new President, effective immediately.
After the club meeting and lunch, Margaret Gough did OBEDIENCE demos with her dogs.

We all had a laugh looking at the various photos submitted by club members.
PHOTO CONTEST judge Bob Gammage said the selection of photos was interesting.

Everyone had a great time!
We all support each other and our club efforts, and get along great!

SOME PAST FUN DAYS!

2004 Brittany Spaniel Club of Ontario Fun Day and Picnic -
July 27th, 2004 at Mike & Donna Wilshire's property
Ruffwood Kennels (north of Belwood).

The weather was cool to start, but got hot as the day went on:
We had the club tent to stay dry. Mark O'Donnell & Donna Wilshire organized the event.

Sharon & Paula Welke brought OBEDIENCE equipment
and Pauline Van Veen did demos with River.
Ch. Ruffwood's Deep River is top Brittany in Canada for Obedience
as well as being #10 Sporting Dog in all of Canada for Obedience!
Keri Chard-Savage did a brief GROOMING demonstration on many different dogs.

The FOOD was great! Burgers were cooked to perfection
by past president, Richard Gebhardt. Thanks, Richard.
As always, club members brought great salads and desserts.
We all had a laugh looking at the various photos submitted by club members.

He made extra categories to add interest to our contest.
Everyone had a great time! It's like a family reunion - a Brittany family.
